Greetings! It’s hard to believe that February is already here! I hope everyone is finding some reprieve from the busy Holiday season and getting into the groove of a new year! February always has me feeling extra grateful for the people and experiences that I love most. Here’s what I’m loving at the moment… Our staff picks page! Have you checked it out yet? A new resource called ‘Candid;’ a wonderful resource for nonprofits in our area! You must be physically in the library to use this one, so come on in and check it out! Our Friends of the Library! Be sure to check out their upcoming Library Fundraising event, Pouring over books! I have also loved every second of meeting more people in our community! We truly have the best patrons around. And last, but certainly not least, I am sending extra love to our children’s librarian, Ms. Marie, who is retiring this month. Please see more information in this newsletter about ways in which you can celebrate her!
Happy Reading!

Goodbye Ms. Marie
February 12th-16th Come and Wish Ms. Marie a Fond Farewell
Our beloved children’s librarian will be retiring on February 16th. We will spend the week celebrating her and wishing her a fond farewell. Ms. Marie has read to and created programs for children in our community for over 17 years. Many of us have children who grew their love of reading under Marie’s helpful guidance. She has shared the love of stories with her weekly story times and fabulous summer programs. She will be missed!

Welcome Ms. Olivia
Hello from the New Children's Librarian
Hi everyone! If we haven’t met yet, I’m Ms. Olivia and I’m excited to be your new Children’s Librarian. I grew up mostly in Seattle and have lived in Central Texas for almost ten years; my family is from South Texas and Guadalajara, Mexico. Some of my favorite things – aside from reading, of course – are musical theatre, cheering on Austin FC soccer and Team USA fencing, and playing with my dog Sadie. Nothing gives me more joy than connecting kids and their grown-ups with their new favorite book, and I’m looking forward to lots of learning, growing, and sharing stories with you. I hope you’ll stop and say “hi” the next time you’re in the children’s area!

Fresh out of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory and shipped directly to your local Library! Stop by and pick up your very own, free, Willy Wonka Book to take home with you. Much like his world-renowned chocolates, there is no telling what book you may find behind the wrapper. Though, like always, Mr. Wonka is one for words and warnings, so being the showman that he is, he has labeled each mystery book with some cryptic information to help you decide if this will be a good flavor for your story taste buds. So... are you willing to take the risk and try something new and unknown?
Hey! Pssst! Mr. Wonka has one more thing he would like to share. As a special Valentine’s treat, he has added a surprise Golden Ticket into one of his wrapped books. The person who takes home the book with the Golden Ticket will be the winner of a brand new Fire HD 8.
For ages 13 and up. If you are under the age of 13, check out the Children’s Area for a very similar and fun, “Bookish Box of Chocolates.”
Starting on February 5th!

We need your help to assure that we have enough supplies for everyone. Registering for the specific time you will be attending, and even canceling registration, if you are unable to attend, would be so helpful!
