SUMMER KICKOFF PARTY!

Join us Monday, June 3rd from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM for our Summer Kickoff Party! There will be snow cones, coffee, a petting zoo, face paint, an inflatable obstacle course, and a whole lot of fun! All of this is free (all attendees will receive one, free, small snow cone) and open to the public. You do not need to have a Library Card to participate in the fun!

Our party will be held in the Library Parking Lot. Due to this, all parking will be held across the street by the baseball fields. There will be  very minimal parking spaces available in the front of the building for handicap, elderly, and patrons with quick pick ups or drop offs.

Want something a little calmer? Perhaps a little later in the day? Join us for our Adult Summer Kickoff from 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Coffee, snacks, and the Hill Country Ramblers! All are welcome and the event is totally free!

We hope to see you there!

FAMILY AND CHILDREN PROGRAMS

Follow the Reading Book Road

This summer, we’re going on an adventure to Oz. Help us build a yellow brick road to get there! When you come into the library, add a brick for every book you’ve read and we’ll see how long we can make our road. The adventure begins June 3!

Wonderbooks are Coming!

We are excited to share that we are adding Wonderbooks to our children’s collection.

Wonderbooks are a print book and audiobook in one, with easy-to-use controls and hours of playback. Picture books, early readers, and chapter books will all be available. Stop by the children’s area to check one out starting this month!

In 1983, a group of volunteers banded together with the mission to raise funds for a free-standing library. This was to become the Friends of the Dripping Springs Community Library, which is still going strong 36 years later.

At this time the library served double-duty as the high school and community library. Members of the group were determined to have a dedicated, independent library in Dripping Springs. In June 1998, their hard work paid off and the library opened in its current location.

That same year the Friends of the Dripping Springs Community Library, Inc. incorporated as a 501( c ) ( 3) nonprofit charitable organization. Its mission: to promote the library’s value, encourage its use and help sustain its vibrant role in the community.

Today, in response to the dynamic growth of the City of Dripping Springs and the surrounding area, our group of members continues to expand. We raise money and volunteer for the library, supporting its varied events and projects. Get involved! More information here
