Vote for our next library card design!
Dear Neighbors,

I know our community has been eager for an update on our new library building, and I’m happy to share where things stand.

As a special district library, we rely on our own dedicated portion of sales tax revenue to fund operations and plan for major projects like this one. Unlike a traditional city library, we do not have the same borrowing capacity as a municipality. This makes securing financing more challenging, especially as construction costs continue to rise. We are committed to moving this project forward while continuing to provide services today, and plan responsibly for the Library’s future.

The Library remains in a strong financial position to support day-to-day operations while also budgeting for this important investment in our future. We are working with potential lending partners and exploring public funding opportunities. Our goal is to finalize the financing plan by the end of this year. While several discussions and approvals are still underway, we are actively working through those steps and making meaningful progress.

We are continuing to refine the building plans to make sure the facility meets our community’s needs while remaining financially sustainable. With financing discussions progressing and approvals moving forward, we are working toward a potential site-development start in the Summer of 2027. Although this timeline is not yet confirmed, it reflects the momentum behind the project and helps illustrate the path ahead.

We’re grateful to everyone who believes in the library’s future and is helping make it possible. As plans move forward, we look forward to keeping our community informed and sharing updates on the project scope, financing plan, and anticipated construction timeline. With financing in place, we can build on the generosity of our donors and move into the next phase of fundraising for the library’s future.

Thank you for your continued interest, patience, and support. I also encourage everyone to take a few minutes to complete our strategic planning survey. Your input will help guide our vision, shape our mission, and focus our efforts on what matters most to our community. Together, we can make meaningful changes today that will help shape the future of our Library.

With Gratitude,

Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Dripping Springs Library recently celebrated a major success with their annual Caliterra Book Sale on October 24th.

The community came out in strong support, helping the event raise over $4,000 in total revenue.  All proceeds from the book sale will go directly to supporting the Dripping Springs Community Library.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, especially the Library who provided the book bedazzling activity.
